Destination: Disneyland, Paris
Every day at 15 pm there is the Grand parade of the personages of lovely tales and cartoons on the Main Street. The same heroes walk in costumes made with electric bulbs every evening. All the actions are finished with musician fireworks.
Traditionally the Disneyland is divided into 5 geographical parts like countries. The Main street is the USA, is very close to an American town of 19th century. Here is a railway station with frequently running trains that delivers their passengers to any corner of the park. A real horse-drown train runs through the Main street.
The next region is Frontierland – the zone of Wild West with precipices, mountains and tunnels (by the way, the tunnels fill with trains of the cowboys and Indians period very frequently, so you can try yourself as a traveler of these hard times!). There is a small attractive lake with islands and caves surrounding the Thunder Mountain. Everybody can try himself running on canoe, boat or Mississippian paddle steamer. One of the shores sheltered an Indian village. Some steps down the way and you’re near the cowboy stores and saloons with cancan shows.
The other shore of the lake placed a mysterious Phantoms’ Castle. The most showy animation miracles are here! Don’t miss the Legend about Buffalo Bill – hordes of bison, mailcoach assault, rodeo and meet the legendary heroes of the Wild West. During an hour and a half you will watch this amazing show and eat traditional dishes of the Far West. A cowboy hat that is given on the entrance as a souvenir will be a nice recall about your adventures here. Just one disadvantage about this attraction – you should not visit it if you have any asthmatic ill – there is a lot of dust rising by the animals.
Another attraction is the Adventure land with abandoned town from Indiana Jones’ adventures. Maya Indians, their mystical idols and sacrificial pyramids. Step through the small bridge and you are in jungles of I desert island. Walk there and you’ll definitely find the Robinson Crusoe’s tree house! Here’ s also one of the main attractions of the Disneyland – The Caribbean Pirates. After walking through small bay with pirates’ old schooner, caves, suspension bridges and labyrinths you will be picked up by terrible pirates’ band.
Fantasy land is the most popular area of young visitors. The Sleeping Beauty lives near the ancient castle in one of the high towers. If you’re not afraid to try saving her, take care about the dragon who spouts fire!
Discovery land is the next area for any aged visitor. Even adults should try the Star trip with George Lucas’ heroes from the ‘Star Wars’. Didn’t you dreamed about the fantastic adventure? What about Captain Nemo with his Nautilus?
The Paris Disneyland is opened all the year round. Summer opened hours are from 9:00 am till 23:00 pm and winter – 9:00-18:00. The program of shows (it changes daily) and a map are available in the local information bureau. It’s located at the City-hall entrance at the main street. English, French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Italian languages are available. Another info bureau is at the Central Square. There are a lot of different boutiques with many souvenirs, postcards, books, movies, videogames and toys. All of them are associated with tales of Disneyland.
If you haven’t been there yet, you may think that all my words are just tales… I assure you, when you get there, you will jump and have fun like a small child admiring with the shows. It doesn’t matter how old are you – 5 or 55; anyway your soul will have a big warm feeling.
Some adults keep silent just after visiting Disneyland. ‘Why so silent are you?’. ‘I digest what I have seen!’
Nobody has told yet that he spend his time here for nothing. Everybody assumes that he will come here again. I’m sure, you also will not regret! Stories about Disneyland are never ended. But it’s better to see it once than read hundred times.
Getting there from Paris is pretty easy. Just 20 miles (or 32 km) and you are there! The best way to get to the great place is metro. Follow the Red line ‘A’ to the last station 'Marne-la-Vallee' (the Fifth area). The station is located just next to the park entrance. Trains run every 45 minutes, work hours are from 5:00 am till midnight.
